Tap Bolts
A tap bolt looks like a standard bolt but has threading all the way down its shaft. This means it can be screwed into a hole that’s already been threaded (called a "tapped hole") without needing a nut on the other end.
What’s the Difference Between a Tap Bolt and a Hex Cap Screw?
They may look similar, but there's a key difference:
| Tap Bolt | Hex Head Cap Screw |
|---|---|
| Fully threaded | Partially threaded |
| Screws into a tapped hole | Usually used with a nut |
